What are the must eats during moon festival in Taiwan?

Moon festival is one of the 3 biggest holiday in Taiwan. There are many kinds of moon cakes in the Chinese-cultural countries. For example you can find moon cakes in Vietnam, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan, while each country develop their own style of moon cakes. The moon cakes in Taiwan is very often filled with mung bean, azuki red bean, or taro paste, and the ones filled with salty egg yolks inside the pastes are the precious one for showing the genuineness. The salty egg yolk is made from the eggs of ducks, cured in salt for weeks. The egg yolk represent the full moon of the moon festival(also called mid-autumn festival) which makes the most popular kind of moon cakes in Taiwan. Also the wendan pomelo(citrus fruit) is always in season during moon festival in Taiwan, so it is often served with oolong tea, moon cakes and pomelo.

中秋節での必食は何でしょう?

中秋は旧正月、端午と並びに台湾の三大休日とみなされています。月餅も色々の種類がありますが、日本でよく見る四角い月餅は、実は香港スタイルの月餅です。台湾スタイルの月餅は丸くお饅頭みたいな形、皮がパイ生地のように一枚一枚になっているのが特徴です。中には緑豆、小豆、あるいはタロ芋のあんが入って、あんの中に塩漬けの卵黄が入っているのが、中秋の満月に似てて一番人気があります。卵黄まるごと入っていることで豪華なお菓子にも見えて目上の人に誠意を表しています。また、文旦も中秋の時期で旬なので、月餅と台湾烏龍茶と文旦と一緒にいただきます。
